Live Production Specialists

In-person, virtual,
or both.

The Format Changes. The Standard Does Not.

Every event starts with a question: who do you need to reach, and how do you need to reach them? In-person events create unmatched energy, connection, and presence. Virtual events remove geography from the equation entirely. The choice between the two – or the decision to run both simultaneously as a hybrid – shapes every production decision that follows.

At Norman Events, we produce both formats with the same commitment to quality. Whether your audience is seated in a ballroom or joining from three continents, the experience they receive reflects your brand, your message, and the care you put into how you communicate.

In-person and virtual events demand different approaches.

The biggest mistake event organizers make is treating in-person and virtual as interchangeable formats with the same production requirements. They are not. Each has its own technical demands, its own audience psychology, and its own approach to keeping people engaged from the first moment to the last.

Our team has produced large-scale in-person events with full staging, lighting, and audio production, alongside broadcast-quality virtual events with multi-camera direction, clean graphics, and remote speaker management.

We understand both environments and know exactly what each format requires to succeed.

In-person events

In-person events – when presence is the point

What it is
Bringing your audience into a shared physical environment designed entirely around your brand. Atmosphere, massive production scale, custom stage design, and real-time human networking.
Why it works
Physical scale creates unmatched emotional impact. A custom lighting plot, calibrated live sound, and visual focus points pull a physical room into complete unison.
Best for
Award ceremonies, black-tie galas, large annual user conferences, high-profile product reveals, nationwide company town halls, and intimate incentive retreats.
What it requires
Complete physical rigging—line array audio, custom stage design, professional lighting setups, LED display backdrop walls, highly experienced systems crew, absolute timing logistics, and full contingency plans.
Production point
Live physical shows are completely unforgiving. There is no pause button, no edit phase, and no second take. Your production partner’s experience determines the floor of your event.

Virtual events

Virtual events – when your audience is everywhere

What it is
High-quality visual content produced, directed, and streamed completely online. Rather than a compromised physical layout, we design virtual as a dedicated broadcast format with native interactive strengths.
Why it works
Completely removes the logistical and travel barriers of physical locations. Instantly scale to cover global workforces, remote developers, and international investors simultaneously.
Best for
Global company alignment broadcasts, all-hands town halls, online developer summits, major international product announcements, and multi-tier hybrid webinars.
What it requires
Broadcast cameras, multi-input vision mixers, custom live graphics, highly redundant internet pipelines, professional technical directors managing stream switches, and pre-show remote speaker technical validation.
Production point
The most common failure in virtual is treating the stream as a passive recording of a physical room. Broadcasts demand television-quality discipline to grip and direct online attention.

Why choose us

Why Norman Events for
both formats

  • We produce both to the same standard

We do not have a preferred format. Whether your event is in a 2,000-seat arena or streamed to 10,000 people globally, we bring the same level of planning, technical expertise, and on-the-day execution. The format changes. The standard does not.

  • We understand what each format actually needs

In-person events need physical infrastructure, atmosphere, and live operator expertise. Virtual events need broadcast discipline, clean signal flow, and audience engagement thinking. We know the difference and plan accordingly from the first brief.

  • One team for both formats

Our staging, lighting, audio, and LED wall packages support in-person productions. Our broadcast-standard camera systems, video switching, streaming infrastructure, and graphics rigs support virtual and hybrid delivery. One team coordinates all of it, so nothing falls between suppliers.

  • One team across both formats

You work with a single production partner who understands your event, your brand, and your objectives – regardless of the format. That consistency of communication, planning, and execution is something you cannot get from assembling multiple separate suppliers for different parts of the production.

Our process

How we approach your event type

  • Format Consultation

We start by understanding who your audience is, where they are, and what you need them to feel and do after your event. We help you determine whether in-person, virtual, or a hybrid approach best serves your objectives, your budget, and your timeline.

  • Format-Specific Production Design

Once the format is confirmed, we design a production plan built specifically for it. In-person events receive a full physical production design. Virtual events receive a broadcast production design. Hybrid events receive both, fully integrated and coordinated from a single plan.

  • Technical Planning and Rehearsals

Every format requires technical rehearsals. In-person events require venue walkthroughs, load-in schedules, and run-of-show checks. Virtual events require speaker technology tests, stream quality checks, and full technical run-throughs. We build this into the schedule as a non-negotiable.

  • Live Production and Operation

On event day, our production team operates your show in full. In-person events are run by live crew on the floor, at the console, and behind every technical system. Virtual events are directed by our broadcast team managing every camera, graphic, and stream output in real time.

  • Post-Event Review and Content

Every event produces assets that extend its value beyond the day itself. In-person events generate highlight reels, photography, and recap content. Virtual events produce broadcast-quality recordings ready for distribution. We plan for this from the start.
